What a day!

Well I really have to say this: What a day!

Two days go Micki arrived in the morning, and we went grocery shopping.
That was nothing spectacular, of course. Then, after having done so, the
ladies let me sniff out a little green patch outside the shopping stuff.
And then we went somewhere else, where there were many trees standing
around. I don't know why that was, but there were really many. I wanted
to sniff them out, but was not allowed. I wanted to go greet another
dog, wasn't gonna have anything of that either. Micki picked up one of
those trees herself, dragged it to a man, and Chris payed for it. What
on earth do they want with a tree that is not in the ground? Why would
anybody want to move a half a tree around, I wonder? But for some odd
reason they made it a long kid of stick and put it down somewhere. Then
we went into the nearby furniture store, where the humans had coffee and
I lay under the table. A nice man even moved a chair for me, so I had
space to lie under the shelter. That was surely relaxing! Then we went
into the store, and once we had gone down the staircase I played and
played with my leash, which Chris moved before my nose, so I could chase
and grab it and have a jolly old time. Boy was I tired when we had
arrived at home!

At night Chris trimmed my nails. And ouch, she cut a bit too far. That
really hurts, folks, don't imitate! She put some white powder on my paw
to stop the blood, and then built a kind of a protective shoe out of
paper. Strange but she did, so I couldn't lick my paw clean. Then in the
early morning of the next day I did lick the paw, and Chris built a shoe
again, covered it with a bag and with a sock, and after having prepared
my paw in this uncomfortable manner, we wet outside.

Haha, after half the distance I got rid of the sock, and soon the
plastic bag and the shoe were disposed of equally. I think I am great!
However, once we were back at home, my paw received the treatment of
washing, powdering and protective light shoe again - tough luck, Quito,
no licking whatsoever!
Only when we went for the afternoon walk, we left the foot like that.
And then we went outside again with no shoe on the paw, and it felt so
wonderful. I spotted Daniel's car and Chris made me sit at her feet in
the front. Then we went into a room, and once we had settled loads of
cats arrived, and three dogs, too. O boy, that was exciting! Finally we
were called into yet another room, where a lady looked at my paw. Not
fun, I tell you, for Chris held my head and thus made it impossible for
me to sniff out what that lady was doing to my paw, or make her stop it.
Then another lady came with dog biscuits - yummy! - while the other one
was still messing around with my paw. And after she had finished it was
weird - I had a really soft big shoe on my paw, with which I could walk.
but I tell you the truth, walking on my bare four paws is way better
than that shoe thing.
Chris doesn't allow me to take it off or chew on it, so I have to bare
with it. She promises that tonight after the walk it can be removed, and
then, well then I will have a licking feast ...
Ah well, Chris is just telling me tat that won't happen. Darmed, I
thought I could! After all she's the one to blame!
Have a good time everybody and enjoy the warm weather, Yours, Quito.

Yet another city trip

Hello hello!

Thought I had disappeared? Well no I haven't, but only been quiet.
It has gotten a bit colder here, but the weather is usually nice. Just
these past few days the wind has gotten stronger and more furiously
biting my ears and Chris' nose.

A few days ago Micki came to visit, and we all went to the city using
the streetcar. We got off and walked to a tiny shop, where a man took
Chris to a room in the back with open door, so I could see her. Chris
sat down on a chair, straightened her hair and looked at the man, who
saunched a few sparks or flashes at her, walked back for Micki to check
something, threw a few more flashes at Chris, mad Micki check again,
threw more flashes yet, and then I got too greet Chris, who picked up
her bag and then we left. We stopped at a bakery for a quick human
snack, went back to that little flash shop, where Chris received a
little tiny package, complimented the flash man on his patience and
willingness to get the best result possible, and then we left. We took
another streetcar, walked down the incredibly crowded street and intoo a
clothes shop, where we got a lady to help Chris, who disappeared in a
tiny room behind a curtain again.
It is great fun to peak through the curtain gaps into other tiny rooms
with other people in them. This time, however, I stayed in that tiny
room with Chris, who tried on different clothes. We then took the stairs
upstairs, where a man helped Chris find a good pair of shoes. Then we
left and went home, Chris left the bag of clothes there, and we then
went splash and dash into a supermarket. Chris says she wants to go join
a fitness center soon, where I, too, am welcomed and accepted to
accompany her.

this morning Chris first brushed me, then we went for the morning walk.
To my and Chris' surprise there was snow on the ground, and after having
done my major duty of relieving myself, I ran, bounced and played.
Back inside the home Chris started a bit of cleaning, before she called
somebody, and after another call she had received, we went for a little
stroll. We then walked to the streetcar shelter, where after a while of
waiting we met Daniel on wheels and immediately got on a streetcar,
which took us to the city.
Wt got off a stop we had never gotten off at before, and then Daniel
gave Chris instructions where to go and where to turn. We walked into a
house, Chris called the elevator, and we went upstaiirs, only to return
and walk back. We walked around the streetcar stop a few times, until we
had gotten it down right. Then we went to the city, Chris got paper
money, the humans had lunch, and then we stopped at an outside place
where a colleague sold mold wine for humans. On the way I spotted a few
dogs, wanted to play but did not get permission.
Finally we went back on the streetcar and home.
When we had started the exciting journey, the weather was awful. Large,
heavy and wet snow-rain flakes splashed down on us, bt the humans'
fingers and made navigating the wheelchair really uncomfortable for
Daniel. And by the end of the trip the sun was shining - quite unfair of
the weather to behave so awkward.
Chris says the place we had gone to was the fitness center, and she is
relieved the route is so easy.

I think I will take a good nap now after all the many people routes,
dogs and bits of work, cheers, Quito.

I am fun!

Of course I am, believe me!
Not only am I fun, I am also highly adapiable.
When Chris is on the phone with Mylove, I come and ask for pets, because
she is sitting still and won't run away.
Then once we went shopping, the sister, Chris and I, and I took Chris to
the shopping street, and we found a caf´e where we could wait for the
sister. During shopping I lay quietly and sometimes ran to follow Chris.
And when the sister let me play, I did so, chasing my leash or just
playing with the sister. Once I was really confused, however. We stopped
at a part of a shop where there were so many animals. I spotted dog and
bit his ear to see what he was doing. He did nothing and the sister made
me leave it. Honestly, there were so many animals like the tiny dog at
home called Mr Wambach who never makes a noise and never accompanies us
on the dog route, but spends his life sitting on Chris' bed. Those ones
there were sitting still, and not one tried to escape - strange animals.
And when we went clothes shopping for Chris, I lay in front of her
hideaway place and peaked through another one, where a man was also
rotating clothes. That was great fun indeed. And later, when we were at
home, the sister took me to Elisa, the tall dog, and the two of us
played runrun in the field, which was just fantastic.
However, the sister also gave away a secret we had shared until that
day. She told Chris that I am a mighty jumper. Once the sister had
locked me away in the garden with the huge dog. I heard her in the yard,
I mean the sister, and decided to jump over the 140 cm fence to join
her. For one reason or another it wasn't a good idea, but I have no idea
why. In that house there is also another dog named Clara, but I never
get to play with heer.
And did you know I respect cats a lot? When they hiss at me I will turn
away and ignore them, which Chris is not too fond of. I am anot a
defender dog.

I can lie still on my mat while Chris is working, but when the big boss
is coming, I race to the door in a matter of seconds. The return isn't
that nice, because Chris makes sure I am on my mat faster than I think,
and won't get up to greet the big boss anymore. Why that is I don't
know, because I really like to jump up on this tall man!
I can play tug or wrestling when Chris lets me, that's for sure. But I
can also distract Chris and make her laugh when she is close to crying
for a reason I don't know. I will just challenge her to play, and even
use my tongue to sneak a quick forbidden face wash.
I think being adaptable is not such a bad idea, foor Chris admires this
ability of mine, and she says she wishes she was such a jolly trooper as
I am. Well Chris, you would never go sniff the ground with me, but you
are fun to be around, too, I have to admit, and I do like working, too,
as you know, especially in new and exciting environments.
Cheers to you, my dear Chris, don't ever even think of crying, for I'll
be there to make you laugh anyway, so you could just as well skip those
useless efforts, Yours bouncefully, Quito.
