A few events

Well last week first Micki and Chris and I went out to the city. First the
humans nad food, and then we went to various stores, before we went for a
stroll on the city wall, which now is a nice park for me to walk. Then we
went into a strange store, where Chris sat in a chair and had water poured
over her head, and I lay and watched, until Micki came back from somewhere
and picked me up. We walked on the city wall again. When we returned, Chris
was sitting on another chair, but the lady messed around with her hair
again. I finally was allowed to greet her, and she had a good laugh when
Micki told her about the walk.
I think I did well in the city, I even showed Chris the entrances to the
streetcars we boarded. She says I was just a little bouncy in the city, but
generally I was doing well indeed.

The next day we went home from work early, because Chris was tired, she
says. It's true, she woke up at weird times and did not sleep too much. And
when we were home, I saw the sister and her tiny dog on the balcony. And
when they came inside, what a joy! I tried to get the tiny dog to play with
me, but he is old and doesn't want to play.

Then we had to work some more, and then the crazy ball time started. Chris
constantly has one or more balls playing, and hardly anything can stop her
from doing so. Only on the very first day Daniel in the wheelchair was
there, and he brought cake and something else I don't considder edible, they
call it rubarbara or something like that. Yesterday we went out in the
morning to have the ladies be taught that Spanish thing. Chris says Nico and
Rafa both speak it, but I haven't seen those men yet. Chris says I might
never, but Spanish is a nice languag anyway.
And today we went to the bakery, where Chris and the lady had a nice chat
again.

Besides all of that, I am learning to pick things up with my mouth after
running after them. I want to drop them immediately, but Chris tells me it
is allright to carry them and give them to her or put them on the little
bench. It is great to do with the collar and signal jacket, but not with the
big flexible leash with the plastic handle. And the shoes are fun to carry,
too.

Allright, she tells me to stop rambling, because she wants to "watch"
tennis - as if she could watch anything! - byebye, Quito.

boring stuff!

<yawn> that Spanish thing was boring beyond description.
Okay, it started off well, because Chris and I left the jouse, and I spotted
a car that I knew and took her right there. There was one of the ice people
from work, she took us somewhere neither of us had been to before. We went
into a house without giving me the chance to sniff out the environment. A
man waited at a door, but he did not even pet or look at me. Chris had told
him to do so. But when I showed that I wanted to look at him, he did give me
pets, and Chris did not mind. They sat down and got something to drink, and
then we changed rooms. Chris and the friend sat at a table, I lay beside
Chris, and then off they went.
The man talked and talked in a way I did not understand, and Chris and the
friend imitated him. That went on forever and ever. I thought if I yawned
loudly, if I tossed and turned, they would stop, but no way. They stopped
when they wanted to stop, and then we drove to work. We immediately went
upstairs, and the ladies said the weather was so good they should have gone
to the beach instead of work.

After work, however, the three of us went to the playing area, and Chris
made me run run and bark and jump. The friend had a good laugh, and I really
stretched my legs. I think today we are not going to work either, but I have
no idea what the plan will be. I am so full of energy, I think I could run
forever.
Cheers, I've got to bug Chris, Quito.

A weird thought

You know, when we have time, Chris looks through the statistics of my
weblog. She can see how many woofs and/or humans have looked at my thoughts
and ramblings, and she can also see where they were from.

When she does that, I can recognize a few returning places I have never been
to. And I love new adventures.

If I went to Norway or France or Brazil or USA, would I have the chance to
meet the generators of these entries? I hope I will, because I want to have
a good bit of talking/tongue rotating with whover it is.

Chris says the USA readers are the most frequent ones, followed by the
German ones. She says if we had to travel to some of the location within the
home country, we would have a good holiday.

Can you potential guests please leave a comment with an invitation? I am
really curious.
Chris says we are off to learn/listen to Spanish, so she can communicate
with more people in the world. I'll tell you al about it.

O joy, I forgot to mention, the ball hitter Chris names Rafa has won
yesterday, and for some reason it was a very special moment, which leaves
her very happy and satisfied. She says I will be getting loads of ball
punching stuff from next week on - I'll keep you updated. Byebye for now,
Quito.

The busy day

Hi everybody:

I did have a busy day a while back. First Chris got ready as usual, and I
thought we were going to work. But instead, a man was waiting by a car. I
have never seen the man or the car, so I was ready to growl at him. Chris
gave me no time to do so, because I had to get inside the car. This is what
she calls a taxi.

We arrived at a place I have never seen before, either. We were both greeted
by three ladies, who were all pleased to see me.Chris had to wait for a
little while at first, and then one lady called us into a room, where Chris
told me to stay by a seat. Then the lady guided her to a chair, and I saw
her doing something to Chris' eyes. I surely watched all of it, because I am
curious. Both ladies said I was a great woofer, of course I am.

And then, after I was back inside the other room, Micki came. This is the
person Hapoo used to call mom, from what I gather, but Chris calls her
Micki. She says one of her nephews, whatever that is, had called Micki that
name, and it stuck to her ever since. I wanted to jump up and say hello, but
Chris forced me to stay on the floor until I had calmed down. Only then did
we get up and leave the room. We went shopping, and then mom left us. A
little while later Chris took me outside, and we walked towards the bakery.

Well so I thought, and then it was the physio place. It was that neither,
because a nice lady helped Chris find another entrance, where she, Chris,
handed the lady a few papers and bought something to calm her shoulder. Then
we walked back home, and Chris spent some time in the kitchen preparing
breakfast portions that she wanted to freeze. In a break we walked to the
store thing again, where Chris picked up two tiny packages. She says the
store is a farmacy, and she had to pick up the medication for her eyes, and
I was a grooper, even when two dogs approached us.

After the first time at the farmacy, Chris and I went to the bakery, where
she had a tea and I relaxed.

Hey, the bakery lady told her that she was not going to be there for too
long. That is really sad, because she always comes and pets me, and we
surely like each other a great lot. And I love sleeping there, it reminds me
of training times, when we stopped there to relax.

Two days later in the afternoon Daniel came. Well he rang the doorbell, and
Chris left me behind to see him. And when they were back upstairs, he had
his two replacement legs with him. His wheelchair, the mobile seat that I
really like to reest my head or paw at, stayed in the basement. He had also
brought Basti, the cool dog. The humans talked and had loads of cake,
watched the big ball fly, something Chris calls football. And then Chris
took me outside for my business, and then they had pizza and talked more.

Humans really take pleasure in talking. If i was so vocal, I think Chris
would have a word or more to say about that.
Well humans, what can you say?

She's totally lost her sense of time. Yesterday, she slept and slept, and I couldn't get her awake. There is a rooster living on the tiny chest by the side of the bed, with the voice box and the phone. When the rooster wakes up, Chris does, too, and I jump up and lick her if I can, and she gives me the good morning pets. Yesterday, that rooster must have been on holiday, for it didn't yell the wakeup call. When she did finally wake up, she made the rooster speak. That always makes her realise what's up next. And next up was the jump out of bed and running outside with me - thank goodness. She says it was 11:30 and she had consciously told the rooster to be quiet. O how I loved to go outside! And as we came back inside, Chris showed me another toy, a little tennis ball. That thing is real fun. It jumps up and bounces against the door or wall, and I can catch it with my paw and carry it back to Chris easily. Then she turned on the mystery box, and another while later I saw the tennis ball flying around there - suspicious, how did she squeeze it in there? But others were playing with it, really hitting it hard with gigantic spoons. Chris says this is what she calls tennis, and what I will be watching for two weeks soon, and another few months later we will go and watch it live, and Daniel the wheelchair man will go with us. That's fantastic, I really enjoy climbing on his shoulders and giving him slurpy kisses. He covers his eyes with windows, and he doesn't like it when I wash the windows. Well, Chris has no mini windows, so I needn't worry. And then at night Chris spent lots of time in front of the computer. She took me to the bedroom, but very soon after she left the bed, and I followed just a minute later. I think she has slept too much, she is really strange. I am curious to see what will happen today, Quito.

The mystery box

Hey, she finally got it!

Sometimes you've got to wonder why Chris takes so long to figure something
out. Just now she has realised what I look at after I come for cuddles.

Beside her computer and relaxation chair there is a table, where she usually
puts her food and her coffee. On a lower deck of that there is the computer
and many more things. But beside the coffee cup there is also the mystery
box.

The computer has one, too, but that just flickers and shows lights and
shades.

That mystery box, however, holds varying secrets. Sometimes I see a cat
inside, or a dog, or birds. Mostly there are people talking or doing strange
things.

When I smell the box, it always smells the same, and Chris can make all the
creatures disappear with a magic touch. I really try hard to look at the
people, but they all smell the same and don#t seem to take any notice of
me - boring.

I have also caught a glimpse of fast flying balls which are fetched by
humans in a strange way, but I will have to explore that more in ordr to be
able to report better.

Have a good day, I will remind Chris now that it is time to go to work,
Quito.

I know the way

Hello everybody:

Well the week has passed, and Chris has kept me on flexible leash, except when we are playing runrun, or tug with the rope. She always brings the rope to work, so I can tug and fetch, that's wonderful. But apart from those playing sessions I am kept on flexible leash, so I don't forget my ears.
Only one time my favourite Petra accompanied us on the walk, and Chris let me run and jump up on her and all that - it was great fun. Petra also said that I am a good fetcher, she likes me and I like her.

A few days ago Chris and I did not go to work, but we went to the bakery instead. There was a wild dog, but I pretty much ignored him. He dragged his owner and wouldn't stand still, but I think he was friendly annd just too energetic. I found the entrance to the bakery and sat down in front of it. It was closed, and so we walked around the building. I figure Chris didn't believe that this was the right entrance. At one point she was not sure on which side of the building we were, because there was no car or person to give her a clue. We walked back, and I showed her where the street was. We walked to our right at first, but soon Chris made me turn and we walked back until I could show her the traffic light. She made me walk to the bakery again, and again I did a good job. I think Chris was really pleased with my performance that morning. After we had crossed the traffic lights and walked past two more barking dogs, she let me run on flexible leash, and we also played a little.
Chris says we are getting somewhere, whatever that means, and I am surely warming up to her.
Cheers for the moment, Quito.
