the sunny office day

Hi all:

We had a great day two days ago. We went to work, but we did not stop at the desk for too long, but we walked into the kitchen. There the big boss greeted us, and you know that I really love him. He helped Chris find a place and made sure she got some coffee. The kitchen was unusually busy and buzzing with people. I wanted to tell Chris how excited and nervous I was, and so I spilled her coffee on her trousers. She was not too mad, she knew I was nervous. Soon Daniel, the wheels man arrived, and then finally one man stepped up and made everyone else go quiet. He spoke a while, others did, too, and that whole thing continued for quite some time, until everybody finally buzzed out of the kitchen. As Chris and I were close to the door, and I know how to guide her out of crowds quickly, we were among the first to leave the place, followed by Stefan, Chris' very much appreciated friend who only shows up once a year or so. He very quickly told Chris something, and then she and I left to go outside. It was good to go for a Hapoo walk and breethe some fresh air. After we were back at the desk, Stefan showed up, played on Chris' computer, and then the three of us went back into the kitchen, which was deserted by now.

Chris calls Stefan very naturally considderate. He brought the coffee, and then we all settled on the couch with the fluffy white carpet. At first Daniel was there on the other couch, but he had to go to work very soon. Chris and Stefan talked a lot, only briefly interrupted by the meeting's main talker called Patrick. She says she likes him, but he still has to learn a bit.

After a long while of human nonsense we walked into the kitchen again, where after another little while we were joined by the team leaders and another lady I had never seen before. She sat down by Chris' side and introduced herself. It is remarkable that she did not even pet me or mention me with a word. But Chris told her that it is quite possible I might run over and greet her when she has settled in. Chris says she'll be sitting at Ilka's place - no way! I want Ilka to sit there, and run over and sing for her and be given nice cuddles!

Oh well Chris says that won't happen and I'd better accept the new lady there. But if she ignores me, what fun is it? O I am a poor dog sometimes!
The humans had fun, and soon Stefan had to leave and gave Chris a warm hug. Chris herself was pressed to go to her computer, because friend Silke had sent her an email. We did go to the computer, but Chris didn't spend much time on the phone at all.

When we moved to the couch, there were people who wanted to pet me, and I made friends with another lady I hadn't known before. I like it when new people arrive, sometimes Chris allows extra pets. I am a lucky dog sometimes

And the following day we spent most of our time in one of the training rooms listening to a man talking. Chris says it was a lot of information but very well presented.
Today we didn't go to work, and I think tomorrow is some kind of day where work is celebrated, but Chris doesn't have to go to work - strange thing such a labour day.
Cheers for the moment, Hapoo.

delicious treat

Hi everybody:

I really have to tell you this, it's been great fun!
Today while Chris was in the bathroom, mom arrived at work. Allright, I understand that I cannot sing like mad when I am at work, so I just performed very, very quietly. I was happy nevertheless, mom was there and she's wonderful. After we all had moved to the couch where Chris sits and works when the PCs are occupied, the colleague who is also very nice, Diana, arrived and picked us up. We then took the company car to go to a place I vaguely recall having been to quite some time ago.
Chris says it is the project they had supported a year ago. That is where they give shelter to children, who have to be taken out of their families immediately for reasons I fail to understand. Maybe the parent gets really sick, or maybe they are too chaotic. There were a few there, but they were all kind. We were greeted by a man and he showed us the little children's playing corner that our colleagues had set up last year. It still looks really well in shape.

Then we saw a room where there was not much inside, just a TV and some paintings on the wall and a huge couch. Then we went outside, and the humans looked around and talked a little, before they and I were called over for coffee. It was really nice of the humans to bring me some water. I just took notice of it but didn't have any. While the humans were talking, the man all of a sudden handed me a biscuit. Chris let me have it, but told him no more for the rest of my life. She insisted that I would start begging really fast. Well, I am ashamed to admit that after the man had left to help the girl find new friends, I looked at him thinking he might give me another biscuit. And just before we left that heavenly place, I did have a bit of Hapoo water. I think the humans from work want to help the humans who help the kids - really really nice of them.
Of course, back at work everything was as normal, ut the wheels man and the kitchen expert called me, and Chris held the leash tight. Oh, I wasn#t supposed to let me be tempted by their coaxing. She really got me, and I could not even greet the wheels man on my way past him. Today it was cousin Anne's birthday, and yesterday it was the friend's one. Chris reminded her of her birthday by always sending her "happy birthday" greetings.
So much to do today, so I'd better go sleep, cheers, Hapoo.

We won!

Hey all:

Yesterday, the wheels man called and said that we won. I perked up my ears and listened carefully, for winning is a nice thing. it appears that the wheels man had said that Chris and the tennis Rafa had won the turnament...

Hold on, what did I miss here? How can this lazy Chris win a tennis turnament when she doesn't even know how to hit a tennis ball in the dusty courts, let alone with such power and skill as tennis Rafa does? Applause to the wheels man for declaring Chris champion alongside tennis Rafa! I think she'd enjoy standing up there with him and assisting him in lifting up strange items they call bowls and trophies. But doesn't one tennis Rafa have to work really hard to be granted such honour? Chris works a lot, too, i think, but she doesn't play tennis one single bit. Strange claim, strange claim!

But talking about tennis, Chris also earlier told people on the phone that her most favourite tennis Nico, the Lapentti man who has helped baby Quito have her name attached to her for a lifetime, had to face the great tennis Rafa. She was not disappointed that Nico lost, but she would have wished for a longer second set, she says.
Maybe, if tennis Nico ever won another turnament, he could let Chris join him in winning, for she has always followed his path, ever since she had heard of him for the first time. But maybe they won't even let her share the win, because she is so lazy.

But maybe, just maybe, I can coax them into sharing by singing for them, by putting on my cutest, most charming Hapoo looks, by very nicely begging for pets and scratches, and by generally wrapping them all around all four of my paws?
Though I don't understand those two major passions of Chris', tennis and music men, I still love it when she is all cheerful and bouncing with joy, and so I'd most certainly try hard to please everybody who can make Chris feel like this. I generally believe that humans are nice, I just have to watch out so that no stranger aproaches us out of the blue. You never know, do you?

Today, I have to tell you, we went into my most favourite Hapoo store, where we used to go shopping ever since H have come to live with Chris, and she bought me yummy smelling dried cow hearts and a new flexible leash. I haven't got the hearts yet, but a huge carot after dinner.

Chris also went to the dentist place with mom, where I had to wait under the chair, but I think I did a great job, for mom was beside me. And then we went shopping forever, and I tried to make friends with a Rhodesian Ridgeback kid. But Chris looked at her to see what the breed looks like, and then we had to part. I think tomorrow we are going back to work, and until then it is time to take a good long and relaxing sleep, so I can race Chris to work tomorrow.
Goodnight to all my dear readers and friends, Hapoo.

she's trying...

Hi every body and one and person and human and woofer:
Yesterday, after some pretty normal days, mom came to visit. As you know, that is always a highlight for me. When she came, I of course, performed my loudest song, but Chris told mom to completely ignore me. She even took moms hands out of my reach so I couldn't poke them, as much as I tried. And when the hands were free, mom disappeared in the kitchen. And God forbid I should dare to follow her in there!
Chris is seriously trying to stop me from practising  the well-established art of singing, and I have to admit with a heavy and heart-felt sigh that she is starting to be successful. For though I sang at the top of my lungs at mom's arrival, I stopped fairly shortly afterwards and only followed mom around quietly.
This Chris, she really can be tough as a rock!

We later took mom downstairs after the humans had had a relaxing afternoon mainly on the balcony, and then when we came back, I saw the tiny fun dog. He had run ahead of whoever was with him, so Chris waited until the lady had caught up, and then she let me off leash so I could play with him a little. The corridor floor is too slippery to play, but we managed pretty well. And I was such a good dog, believe it or not, I came when called, right out of my play time. Chris was surely proud of me, and so I was of myself. I am always proud of myself, that's my attitude!
Cheers and good week, Hapoo.

Summer and speed

Hello hello hello everybody:

Have I told you that over the past few days the friend was here? You know she never pets me, but we have agreed to accept each other and respect too, but to just leave each other alone. But she's nice, and Chris likes her. The ladies spent all the days lazing on the balcony. I know Chris loves it when the sun scorches and she can just lie still and not move until she's tired of the sun.

When we finally went back to work in the sun, I ran happily along the road, and Chris followed my speed. Both traffic lights were showing the running lights so we could run without stopping much. I ran and ran, Chris had fun running with me, until she stood at the lockers breathlessly. She checked her watch and realized that I had raced her to work in ten minutes record time.

Yesterday a man came and talked to Chris as we were standing at the lights that show us across the big street. The man said that he was setting up a new signal, and so he came and assisted us to walk across the street, how nice of him. And finally, I met the man on wheels again. He took my leash and we walked away from Chris a few yards, but so that I could see her. And when he said we'd go back, I ran back to Chris again. I think I like Daniel. He's calm and always talks and jokes with Chris.

Today I saw Silke passing by, the great friend, and I wanted to run to greet her. She sent me back, and can you believe it - I listened and returned to the fluffy carpet! Well she rewarded me later, when she gave me a quick scratch.
Oh well, I think I generally have a good life. And you know what? Chris has talked with my most favourite Ilka again on the phone, and the tennis thing is up for discussion again. This time it's in Spain again, but in summer. Tennis men, why don't you have us fly over in your own planes and show Chris where you relax and how you work and let me play chase and runrun with you all?
So much for my consize update, cheers, Hapoo.

the marathon run

Hello everybody:
Time flies, or so Chris says, and I don't get to catch up much.
The first thing I need to mention is that mom was ill for a while, some trouble with her nerve makes her take some strange medicine, and she has to see the doctors of all kinds. But both Chris and I hope that she will be feeling really well very soon, because she is the bestest pets dispenser and grestest mom of ours.
One day of last week we went into a shop where there were millions of couches, and I had nothing to do but to lie down and be patient. The lady gave Chris and mom coffee, and she served me water and after persistent negotiations with Chris, I eventually received a tiny little human treat. I don't really know what they did there. They sat on many sofas, which were all convertable into beds, and Chris even stretched out on them Finally they sat on one again, and the lady brought a huge book of colours or so. Chris touched all of the fabric pages, mom commented on the colours, and the shop lady also helped. Then the lady did some paperwork, and mom and Chris and I went into another room with more comfortable chairs and a TV. It all ended with a signature from Chris, and then we were out of that place, only to drive straight to the supermarket we used to shop in when we were still living with mom.

The next two days nothing of importance happened, but then one afternoon mom icked us up again and we drove to the city, We went into a shop where Chris had to solve something about her telephone, the new mobile that is. Afterwards we walked into the restaurant where I am always presented with Hapoo water before the humans have the chance to order their drinks.First Angelique, a really lovely colleague from work, joined us, and then Silke also arrived. I like her, I am always tempted to run after her when she is at work, so she can give me a quick scratch and send me back to my place. But Chris usually catches me, of course.
We stayed until not too late, Silke drove us home, and the ladies talked in the car, as always, before we went upstairs and Chris fell into bed and slept.

The following day was the marathon day. In the morning we went to work as usual, and then we had a normal day. We left work after Eric had changed Chris' new mobile phone so that it could talk to her. The weather was warm, and after Chris had played with the phone a little, we walked home.
However, at home Chris made me return for a reason I failed to understand. I wanted to go back and show her that she was going in the wrong direction, but Chris softly insisted and encouraged me to go on. Allright, I got it, we were headding back for work. But why, when it is time for food? Well, at work Chris just opened the door, we walked to the wardrobes, Chris picked up the key that was dangling on the door, and then we walked back home. Man, I was so tired, I drank a bucket of water, lay down on my bed and waited for food, plpooed down again and only moved when we changed from livingroom to bedroom.
Yesterday in the afternoon mom arrived, and the ladies had coffee and talked outside on the balcony. And later they created chaos in Chris' bookshelf. They put all the books on the floor and then back into the shelf. They claim to have created some kind of system and sorted them by topics. Allright, if that's what they say, then I'll keep quiet. All I know is that there are many tennis books, and that Chris is really excited about that collection of hers, which she is gooing to scan sooner or later, of course.
Cheers for now, Yours, Hapoo from the sunny north.
