I'm back once again

Hi all you curious ones out there:
I am sorry I haven't written about my holidays earlier, but when you're
away you can't write all the time. We went to visit the friend who
doesn't like to pet me. She lives in a small section of a house they
call apartment. In front of Chris' bed I have a really nice and big
blanket, and I can lie on it so that I can look out of the room door.
And that is always open.
Oposite the room there's the bathroom, and I have to go in there for my
food and water. The door only closes when one of the humans does
something there. In that bathroom there's a huge long bucket that we
don't have in ours. The humans stretch out inside it and call that
relaxing or bathing - so happy I have none of that!

The apartment thing is smaller than our house and has a tiny balcony,
but they use it to enjoy the sun anyway.Outside when we go for the Hapoo
walks, there are no cats, but loads of other dogs, and squirrels to
chase, if only Chris let me! I was hardly allowed off leash, though I
believe there would have been one or two great playmates among the other
woofers. I loved the Hapoo walks, that's for sure!

Guarding when you are in one of those apartments is not requested at
all. Chris always shut me up after my first couple of alert barks. I
mean, why are folks allowed to pass up and down the stairs in front of
our door, and use the outside door? I guess they live there, but they
could at least live in the basement right below us, and not all above my
head!

See, I didn't work at all until I boarded the trains to go home, but I
really enjoyed my time on the blanket and the walks, and in the living
room and on the balcony, and being petted by Chris. I even got bones to
chew and other delicious treats! Cheers for the moment, Hapoo.

A few statistics

Hi to all:
I won't be writing for a while, as it seems we're going away for longer.
Chris has carried a huge bag of Hapoo food over to the bedroom, followed
by a variety of good smelling Hapoo treats. Looks like she is packing
them up, so we can go on a trip. And if that's the case, then I think
we'll be finally boarding a train and then visiting the friend. We've
seen her before, but she doesn't like to pet me. But on the other hand,
she has a Hapoo blanket that I can stretch out on, and my place is
beside Chris' bed, not far from the door, so I can watch.

I also wrote a note to the Music Man, that guy whokeeps singing out of
Chris' stereo, wishing happy Eastern Western. So same wishes go out to
you, of course!

And here are the promised stats! Since I first wrote in 2002, with a
considderable pause in between, we had over 3,200 visitors on this chat
blog of mine. Looks like you guys like my thinking and rambling on and
on - well and I like chatting and talking and woofing to all of you!
Cheers and happy celebration of directions, Hapoo.

Really busy weekend

Hi all:
As I promised, here is the update on what else we did - for we did much
at the weekend. Friday mom took us to the train, and then we rode and
rode forever. We even had a very comfortable seat for ourselves! Shadow
worked on his computer most of the time, but Chris listened to the Mr
Music Man on her CD player. Lately that particular Mr Music Man is all
she listens to... When we finally got off, I saw the nephew and the
sister, and we rode in their car for another little while. And then I
saw my buddy, the sister's dog! Now that's a lot of fun, I tell you!
Shadow almost immediately disappeared to work some more, and Chris and
the nephew left me outside with my buddy, who did not want to play with
me. When they finally came out, they threw the ball for me, and the
nephew showed Chris how to throw the ball farther. She hurt her toe, but
she still continued throwing for us, and I even got to the ball before
my buddy once - how cool! And I made sure Chris took it from me, and he
didn't - because Chris is still the bestest! We slept in one of the
smaller rooms with Shadow. He woke up whenever I stood up and paced
through the room, but Chris slept like a bear in winter - at least she
says so, because I have never seen a bear.

Saturday was a nice sunny day, and Shadow and the nephew took us woofers
out. Shadow took me, of course! My buddy jumped into a pond or ditch,
and after the nephew had thrown in a stick, I jumped, too. O that bath
was such funfunfun! I like natural water, but no baths in the shower!
And when I came back Chris cleaned me with a towel and told me that I
stink. I don't care, for it was fun.

In the afternoon both she and Shadow left me in the corridor with the
sister. And once the sister turned her back on me, I went to the door
through which I saw them leaving, and opened it and walked outside to
see if I could still catch Chris. Well she wasn't there, and instead the
sister caught me, told me to get back inside and stay there. When the
rain was over, I at least got to go outside to see my buddy again! Chris
says she went to watch a soccer game in the stadium, and it was a lot of
fun but too noisy for me. She says soccer is where 22 people run after
or beat a ball so it can't reach them, but being in the stadium was a
lot of fun and she had done it for the first time. She says she even got
headphones to put on so the game was even more fun - whatever! That's
why she had left me <rrrrr>

In the evening the sister's husband brought out the barbecue, and put
some delicious smelling saussages and chicken on it. I walked around
that fire thing on velvet paws until Chris told me to accompany her
inside. Guess what, of course I didn't get a single bite or bone!

Sunday we finally went to the city after I had done my business, and
after Chris and Shadow finally crawled out of bed. We walked and walked
and walked so much that I was glad whenever they stopped to sit down.
All credit to Shadow, he always finds a place where he can convince
Chris to let me off leash. I loved that place, because there were piles
of dry leaves, in which I could play and do my big business. They ate a
lot, but we also sat by a river and watched boats, while the humans
talked. When we finally got out of the city train, the sistr and nephew
picked us up and I got to run and play with my buddy. And when the rain
started pouring like mad, Chris took me inside and dried me off. They
still sat in the livingroom and watched a movie. I really love the
sister's place, even though I am only allowed into the corridor. But I
have my blanket there and can sleep in one room with Chris. On Monday
Shadow and Chris walked me, and after that we took a train. Shadow left
us in the middle of the ride, and I could see that Chris was tired and
very sad. But I did what Shadow had told me to do, I blocked our
fourseater, so that Chris was comfortable and had all her peace and
quiet to herself. When we got off the train, I guided Chris until I saw
mom. And when I saw her, I blocked Chris from walking further, until mom
said hello. And yeah, my tail went wagging and fanning the air like
crazy! Of course, when we finally were home, I stretched out in mom's
livingroom, where the ladies had coffee.

And now we are back to our usual quiet routine, me and Chris taking
turns at the computer, and nothing much otherwise. Cheers, Hapoo.

The second busy day

Hi all:
I owed you the continuation of my busy time, didn't I?
The day after I had played with that wonderful other female, Chris and
Shadow and I went to the city again. We went there in sister's car, with
sister and mom. I like the sister, she usually gives me many pets.
We got off at a place I don't recall having ever been, but I did a good
job guiding Chris. We went into a book store, into another store, into
my most favourite place for food. I even found the bathrooms there,
isn't that cool?
And then we went to that store where there are telephones, clothes and
computers and chocolates and whatever else. The humans, Shadow and
Chris, went crazy over the chocolates. Do I have to mention that I
didn't get a single piece? We went upstairs to the boring stuff, where
Chris bought a box with something that was supposed to help her shoulder
not hurt so much. Chris says my pull surely doesn't do her shoulder
good. But I think she still likes me.
In the afternoon we even went into the flower shop, where Chris and
Shadow bought flowers. Chris never does that, or at least not often. She
says she loves shopping with Shadow, because he is so patient with her.
I thought men weren't patient with women??? I knew that Shadow was
special, although he still doesn't like me licking his hand - I tried
it!
We came back in the rain, and Chris walked me without my raincoat. Is
that cool or what?
And then finally mom and the sister came back, and Chris took me and
some chocolates and Shadow took the flowers upstairs, which they were
happy about, mom and the sister.
Later that night the cousin came, and they chatted a lot. Chris got a
good massage from the sister, and she says her shoulder felt better
afterwards. Poor girl, but I just love pulling into the harness, so she
can walk fastfastfast!!

The next day we didn't do much. Chris only walked me twice, and Shadow
stayed on the couch with his computer most of the time. At night he
cooked, which he always does, because Chris is terrible at it - and they
watched a movie. So all in all the day was boring, but from the next day
on things changed again.
But that I will tell you in a later post, I promise!
Cheers, Hapoo.
