another week has passed

Well, there it is, and believe it or not, it is summer here again! You
surely don't know whether you should wear winter or summer coat. And
Chris is delighted because I have been shedding hair all the way since
May she claims.

Since we have returned from the trip things have been a little quiet
hhere. Once we met the nice friend who now has cats, as the smell of her
clothes tells, and we went to the furniture store. Shopping there was
somewhat easier than with the other friend, because we mainly keep the
general direction. Chris and the friend always end up buying a little
something, and they laugh about it.

Then we went back to work, but Chris says I behaved extremely well, even
when I saw Daniel on wheels. And then it was weekend time. The friend
Silke returned from somewhere, and at night she took us out in her car.
We met another colleague from work at a human food place. That colleague
Julia got to take me out of that fod place once they had finished
talking and dining, and I got to jump and play loads - what a juy!

The next day Chris and I et sister Suse with the tiny Gorki dog again,
and once the car door opened I saw my play-mate Lisa waiting. We went to
the field and were both released to romp there. It is great fun. We also
ran to take a quick dive in the pond and only then returned to the
humans with the tiny dog. Then we went back and the humans parked the
car and left us there by the furniture store, where they really did not
take long.

The next day was one of Chris' sleeping marathons. She walked with me in
the morning, but then lay down to sleep some more, until the sun was
shining on the balcony at noon. She walked me again and then spent the
rest of the afternoon exposing herself to the sun, one of her best
friends, it seems, and also writing a milion mails or so to Mr Mylove.
She says he had no chance to watch the car race, so she told him what
had happened.

Yesterday after work we met the sister again. The sister is funfunfun,
because she plays and is silly with me. She even pickde me up in her
arms, like Chris sometimes does, and Chris and I played with the tug
rope. And then I saw them destroy the kitchen cupboard, the big high
one, and take it out of the apartment. I think the pieces of it are
waiting to go somewhere outside by the trash containers.

Now guess what: I have to leave the keys, because Chris wants to type
some and then we have to go to work. She says in this weather going to
work is fun, and returning early is even better.
Besides, the many cupboard sceletons have disappeared from my bedside,
there is only one remaining, and Chris says the rest are hanging on the
kitchen wall, where they have been schedulled to go. Thank goodness, I
am a dog and needn't spend my life hanging on walls! I'd rather jump on
people and give them huge kisses and sniff them out!
Cheers, Quito.

Holiday time!!!

Hi again, I am back!

in fact, I have returned last night, but the travel was different from
what I had expected before we left.

The day we left, Chris took the bag and my harness, and we went to the
train station by streetcar. Then Chris made me find the bakery, where
she ordered coffee and a snack for herself and then took me to a seat.
After a while i heard Micki and sister Suse, and they soon came to join
us at the table.

After a little while of talking something unusual happened. Chris
started unpacking her bag. First she took out my dog food, then the
blanket I sleep on when we travel, and the cleaning towel, and finally
also the flexible leash. She also gave the sister my harness for a
reason I failed to understand. After all harness work I do exclusively
for Chris, or if not for her, then for someone else, and she gives me
commands from behind on the long formal leash.

Well, we all went outside, and the sister put me on flexible leash. I
played with her and with Micki, and then the sister took me to the car.
It all happened so naturally that I had no time to wonder where Chris
had gone. All of a sudde she had disappeared. So the sister took me to
hers and Micki's home, and the fun time began.

The sister took me to see another dog, huger than I, heavier and taller.
She took me and the dog to the field, and we ran and raced each other.
Where Lisa is heavier, I am faster and cut corners easier. O I had such
fon. There was also another lady with a tiny human in her arms - very
suspicious those small humans - they absolutely don't behave like humans!

The next day was equally exciting. We saw many many children and another
little tiny dog. The following day was spent with the tiny dog, who was
in training, and I was the sparrings partner.

Finally we went to see the huge dog again, ran and raced and played, and
then back into the car and on to the train station, where we saw Chris
and Micki. The humans talked a lot about me, and then we went home, to
Chris' and my home that is.

There the three humans talked, looked around the apartment, and finally
they took a few boxes and items downstairs. Chris came back upstairs and
then she talked to Mr Mylove. They had a lot of things to talk about.

Chris had gone to her former school, met many people and a few dogs
there, walked the old familiar routes from way before I was born,
visited her aunt, who had taken her home at weekends very often, and
finally seen the sister with the lively Rudi dog. It looks like both of
us had a great weekend, even though we were apart. O boy, I am really
tired from all the running, and she is tired from all the walking, so
we'd better go to sleep, both of us.
Goodnight, Yours, Quito.

travels - past and future

Folks, she tells me to hurry, but I had to sneak in at least a short
update on what we have been up to before we head off for new adventures
again.

One day, a bit more than a week ago, Chris and I took a car to the train
station, where a lady took us to a train. We travelled for a long while
until we got off, then a lady met us and took us to another car.

The driver started talking to Chris, and they got involved in an
interesting talk. Chris found out that he is from the land wher Hapoo's
favourite Mr Shadow is from, called Iran.
Just on a side note, I have never met Mr Shadow, but Chris explains that
I have Mr Mylove instead, and I am really happy and will not envy Hapoo
for Mr Shadow. however, the car driver had great fun listening to Chris'
memories of the land he was from, and so the time flew by and soon we
arrived. We were at yet another furniture store, where a nice colleague
took Chris to a couch, where soon we were picked up by this one lady we
have met before. She does not like dogs, so I did not even attempt to
jump up on her or anything like this. She took us to a room where other
people were waiting, handed my leash over to a wonderful man I have
never met, and disappeared for a while.

Then the boring stuff started - humans talking and Quito napping, before
it was human lunch time. Another session of boring talk, occasonal pets
by one or the other human, and then the farewells and a dog walk with
this other lady with a huge belly. Chris says there is a little tiny
tiny human hidden inside it, but I haven't seen it. I have seen another
lady at work with an equally huge belly, and she lets me take a sniff
and an ear full, and I believe in hers there is really a human sort of
living hidden inside.

The journey back home was longer, because after the train we took the
streetcar, and then Chris took me on the dog walk immediately, saying I
had behaved really well.

Then we did not travel to see Mylove, as Chris had promised, for a
reason I fail to understand. Chris just says that had we travveled
anyway, he wouldn't have been there, and it would have been boring. So
we stayed home with the friend, and they shaped more furnitures.
A little away from my bed there are some cabinet sceletons piled up on
top of one another, Chris says they are waiting to be put up on walls.
on the other day the friend prepared a huge meal and the ladies sat on
the balcony and enjoyed the last bits of summer or autumn sun.

Yesterday was our last day of work for a week, and after we had returned
home Chris immediately took a nap, before she and the friend took me to
that store again, where they baught unidentifiable metal bars for the
wall cabinets, lamps and more unnecessary stuff - no food, that much is
for sure. But they bought a plant called bamboo, which moved on the
balcony. It is one of Mylove's favourite plants.

Then Chris put dog food from the huge container into a small plastic
bag, a sign that we are going somewhere. It looks like today we are
starting, so I will not be on the computer keyboard for a while, she
says until Sunday, whenever that is, and then I will have a long story
to tell once again. She says we will be travelling with Micki, seeing
people she hasn't met in a long time and meeting many new ones I have
never met, including an aunt, and seeing Rudy the sister's dog, which
will be my highlight, i think.

Have a good time every woof and human - tiny or not - Yours, Quito.

What is going on here?

Hello everybody:

Do you want to hear another story about strange acting humans? Read on
read on, here it comes.

A while ago Chris brought some of her plastic carrying bags, those she
brings from the furniture store with the arrows on the ground. However,
when she did bring them out, we did not go to a furnitire store. Instead
I got to see what she was hiding from me in the cupboards high annd low
all the year and a bit I have spent here with her. Bag by bag she filled
and slowly carried ito the office room,, where she carefully placed them
on the ground. The bags contain millions of dishes, human water and food
dishes, plastiic boxees, pots, pans annd what not. I think she cannot
use her scanner anymmore, becauuse it might be hard to move the chair
away from the desk.

Two nights ago the friend came and they started messing in the kitchen.
One of the cupboards with the siink inside it was put beside my bed in
the livingroom, and II still have no idea why that is.

And oh, the day before that I finally saw Micki again. She came, and I
was not allowed to jump up high on her. Instead I was allowed to run
free in the high grass, and we went to the shopping center,, where Chris
was left in a store, while Micki and I wandered all around the place
annd Micki picked up a few items. Chris' hair was scattered all around
her on the floor, but she seemed pretty happy about it. Afterwards we
did the usual grocery shopping.

Well, yesterday, to get back to the main story, we left the house early,
which is unusual for a normal weekend. We ended up at a bakery, where
the humans had breakfast and coffee, before they took me inside the huge
store thing. There they walked from shelf to shelf, from aisle to aisle,
and returned with a few items. Instead of unloading them at home, we
went straight to the furniture store. Instead of going to the
restaurant, like we usually do, buut instead we started the walk through
the aisles. We did not even attempt to follow the arrows, so I really
had to follow Chris and the friend. First they looked at furniture, as
always, and then we all went down the stairs and the shopping started.

We went home, the ladies left me in the apartment and brought the
packages inside one by one. They set up things, I don't know what,
talked and consulted with each other, and then Chris put me on leash
again, we walked the dog route and then back we went to the furniture
store. We did not stay on thhe upper floor for too long, but we talked
with a man, who printed a few papers and handed them over to the friend.
We went downstairs immediately, where the ladies walked from aisle to
aisle with a cart, and the Mount Package grew steadily. Finally it was
so huge that Chris had an easy time resting her chin on it. How the
friend managed to navigat it through the aisles escapes me, given that
she is considderably shorter than Chris.

The car was packed when we left the parking spot. The friend was afraid
the police would stop us, buut nobody did, and we arrived safely. Then
Chris took me upstairs again, and then she brought them inside package
by package, later the friend helped and joined, and soon the entire
corridor was packed with boxes and packages. This lasted for a long time,
and then the ladies took me outside again, and we drove to a restaurant
where they had fish. When we were back home I was rewarded with a nice
long walk along routes I have not walked too often.

Today the action continued. First we went to the shop again, where the
ladies stood in front of various thick wood boards they call worktops.
The friend took pictures of some and sent them to Mr Mylove, who helped
choose one. We took home two tiny pieces of worktops for samples and
then the friennd disassembled some of the kitchen cabinets, which Chris
took downstaiirs, and so they disappeared from the apartment.

Chris explains that initially they had only planned to refurbish the
kitchen with minor changes. But once they had gottenn started, they
found out that that was not a feasible option, so basically they are
noow setting up a completely new kitchen. She says it will be a lot of
work, but she cannot help with the difficult things, because it includes
cutting apart wood.

Well, it appears that we both like thhe friend a lot, and Mr Mylove and
Chris have the same worktop favourite. She says the kitchen will be
really beautiful once it is finished.

I received a huge bowl of food after this really active weekend, and
tomorrow it is back to work, where I will be able to sleep while Chris
is tied to the telephone chord, cheers from a really tired Quito.
