greatest vs. worst invention of all times

Hi every woofer and every human:
What should I start with, the best or the worst? I guess I'll start with the best invention of all times.

You know, we are off work, have been so for a week now. Chris has started watching tennis again - more about that later, of course.

One wonderful afternoon Chris must have thought that I was bored, because we weren't walking to work anymore. So she brought out the greatest invention ever. I had forgotten that we have it. It is that secret food dispenser. It has a door handle. If you press down the usual handle of a usual door, something wonderful happens - the door opens and you can follow Chris, who has been trying to leave you  behind.
If you press down this door handle, to which no door is attached, the kibble comes rolling out. Glorious are these handles. She placed that dispenser on the ground, my good Chris, and she was amazed that I remembered what was to be done. I lay down and pressed the handle, until there was no more Hapoo food left to be tossed out. I really love that invention.
Later that night, Chris even brought out the squeeking ball. It is the only squeek toy I have, and I love chasing it. It is fun to run after the ball, as it is trying to escape, but I always catch it.

The worst invention of all is the tennis TV. I don't understand how Chris can deal with it. She turns on the TV only to watch tennis. After a while she also turns on the computer, and more tennis comes out of the stereo system.

I don't want to mention here that it is a mystery to me how the computer can send tennis to the stereo, and how the TV can send tennis to the tape ecorder, which sometimes is moved to the opened window.

Sometimes, actually most of the times, both systems show something different. Chris can tell the difference, but I am happy whenever that noise is turned off. She sits either on the sofa, in the armchair or lies on the balcony, always accompanied by tennis.

Since I am a good girl, I try to help. Our routine of feeding and walking has changed slightly, so I have adapted and remind Chris whenever it is time. She lets me wait, doesn't respond immediately. She says she has to time it so she doesn't miss too much of the action.

And today, two of her favourite guys played against each other. Okay, she has always liked Rafa, the tennis man, ever since he has started on the tennis thing. But since she got shot by a ball from tennis Robin from IKEA Sweden, she liked him, too. Today, Robin beat Rafa, and Chris was shocked. But she said from the beginning that it would not be easy for Rafa. Now she wants Robin to beat Roger, because she says Roger shouldn't win the title.
I could tell yu more, for example that Fernando also lost, and tennis Alex, another favourite of Chris' lost in the doubles but had a good comeback.
I'd better run, she's already recording interviews wiith tennis Robin and wants to be left alone, Yours, Hapoo.

happy birthday

It's my, Hapoo's birthday, but you know by now that Chris only thinks of it as that day when reminded.
Very unfortunately, I didn't get any really yummy or huge treats. Yesterday my stomach was upset, because I picked something up from the ground. I know I shouldn't, but I did, and so I had to suffer. Well Chris managed to take me out in time, so no accidents happened.
So in a way I received a special treat - a potato biscuit, which Chris has baked herself. And she says tonight I'll have anther one. And if that goes down well I can have regular food again tomorrow.
Apart from that, she left me alone for a while in the morning. She says after a few barks I was very quiet, and she was very proud of me. She says she had received more Hapoo food, which she unpacked and put away into the basement. When she came back upstairs, she had a few treats in her hand for me, but I didn't get any.
Instead, she turned on the TV and started tennis. Tennis Rafa and tennis Roger are both first round winners, and she also watched a long match with a Spanish winner on the internet, so she didn't have to follow Italian cycling. She loves our holidays, because that way she can watch and watch and watch tennis. She can even watch on the balcony, when the weather is nice.
I'm afraid there is no other news for now, but I will try to ask Chris for another treat tonight. Cheers, Hapoo.

It's not easy when you are aging

Well all,
I have to face it, I think I am losing a bit of my energy to run for new adventures. I still like them but I have to face the facts - I need some time to rest and recuver afterwards.

So two days ago Chris and I left for work early in the morning. We worked as usual, but in the afternoon Silke, the friend, took us with her in her car. I love going out with her, for we go to new places all the time. We started with a stroll through the city shopping street, which I know. First we went into a foot store, where only Silke bought something. And then we walked into shoe shops, where Chris tried on a few. In the third one she found shoes that fit her and looked nice. The good thing is that I can lie down while she is trying on shoes. Silke also found shoes for herself. Of course, she kept complaining that she had spent way too much money. But instead of stopping the spending, the ladies took me into a clothes store. first they walked through the aisles and let me lie down at a position from where I could watch their moves. And when they were ready to go hide behind the curtains, Chris called me to rest in front of hers, so I could perfectly monitor all her moves. She tried on a lot, most of the clothes were good, because she came out with an arm full of them, and of course, with a bag full. We walked to the car, but the ladies only put in their goodies, and Chris gave me a Hapoo biscuit, before we took another long walk, which ended in a restaurant. Okay, I could lie a lot, but seeing and adapting to new things needs a lot of focus from my side, and we did walk a lot. Chris enjoyed the walk back to the car, and I could run free for a while - really cool. At home I just slept until Chris' alarm clock woke up both of us.
And then mom arrived, and the busy time continued, for we went grocery shopping. And then we went to work, where I could finally lie down. Today we didn't go to work, but I tink tomorrow we are back there, before tennis-mania has Chris back.
Have a good night all, cheers, Hapoo.

three different dogs

Hi everybody:

It all started on Sunday, when we came back from our evening walk. The door opened and dashing out came the little dog from upstairs. You know, he is an energetic little one, I had met him when he was quite a baby. Chris had trouble taking off my harness, because he challenged me for a bit of playing so much that I could hardly stand still. But when I finally got the go, I dashed off myself and ran around with him, even cutting corners, until we were back with the humans. I think both Chris and I like the little one, his name is Odin, and he never sits still.

Yesterday we went to the late shift work. Before it started we went into the quiet room, where she got a massage, and I lay quietly and watched, this time without harness. Then back at work we started the routines as usual, though a lady from the back room, Claudia, came and Chris explained to her how we work. Then another lady stopped, one I had only seen once for a short time. Chris says she is going to sit at friend Ilka's place, and she let me greet her. I think she's nice though much calmer tnan Ilka. But at least she likes to give me pets.

In the afternoon the big boss came, and with him his dog. Se is shorthaired, as tall as I am, but heavier and broader. She's very self-confident and calm, which I love. I had only seen her once, and we had played a little back then. The humans took us out, and I wanted to play with her, but she had no desire to do so. What good is it when a dog is there who doesn't want to play? The big boss found a stick to throw, and Gina got it, kept it for herself, barked me away and shreadded it. She got herself a new one, which the big boss eventually handed to Chris, and when she threw it, I got it first and gave it back. At the second throw Gina didn't even want to run with me - lazy dog. Then we went back upstairs, and we both lay down at our spots. At one point Gina came walking over and tried if she cound have Chris' cake. Of course she couldn't,  but Chris gave her pets. I have to admit that I tried to go for Petra's cake, but Chris surely told me to collaps my extended nose, and I didn't try again.

Then when we were finally at home, Chris wanted to check her mailbox when the boy came outside with his large dog. That bitchy girl barks and growls at me all the time. I promise, I didn't do anything this time, but I think she just doesn't like me, though Chris says she's nice when I'm not around.

Allright, time to watch Chris get ready and then run for work with her, Yours, Hapoo.

a day full of work and stress and play

Hi everybody:
Yesterday we were out most of the time. We started off early in the morning. when Chris took me for the morning walk, I was too tired to really be interested. Soon the doorbell rang, and a man greeted us at the door. We took his car, a taxi, to the place where Chris' eyes are checked. The nurses there like me a lot, and I like them. and while Chris was examined, I walked up to her to see if she wanted to pet me, but she very strictly sent me back to where I had lain before.
When we came out of that room, mom was there, and she took us home with her. We walked the usual Hapoo route, all the three of us, it was wonderful.
Then back into the car, into another doctor's office, and under the chair. This time it was the place where mom takes care of me while Chris gets her teeth worked on.
After that we went home, and mom spent most of her time on the balcony. The palm-tree has a huge pot now, much soil was moved out of some balcony pots and into them again. Mom likes doing such work, and Chris was tired. But then we took the car agai and I found myself at the new vet's place.
Soon a really young puppy girl came walking in. We wanted to play with each other, but our owner ladies insisted that we keep fairly quiet.
Chris was surprised that she could relax me by pointing on the ground with her finger which is used for me to touch usually. I lay down and stayed there as long as she played with my paws or petted me, until the vet called us in.
It was wonderful there, I got a lot of food to eat, while the humans did the boring talking.
Afterwards we took the streetcar and ended up in the restaurant Chris loves to have human food in. As soon as the humans had found their place, the lovely waitress came with water. Before she hat put it down, I started drinking, so she held it until I had fiinished all the water and then lay down.
Of course, Chris says the human food was delicious, she had pasta and pancakes. There was football on TV, and our team played a draw, after having lead by three goals to one - not that I understand, but Chris says it was important.
Finally we left, and on the waqy to the car mom discovered a nice patch of grass, on which we played, all the three of us. O well, I was so excited that I grabbed Chris' jeans and mom's shirt, but they weren't angry at me.
But when we were home, it wasn't home yet, but the grocery store nearby, where shopping was relaxing. because the aisles were empty.
But then, o yes then we were home, and it was soooo good to be back, plop down on my livingroom bed and sleep until Chris called me over to the bedroom. And trust me, she herself then slept like there was no tomorrow! Of course, she woke up and took me for the morning walk today, and I think we are going to work soon. Have a wonderfull, not so stressful day, Yours, Hapoo.

a few great days

Hi all and everybody:
Two days ago we went to work again, and I was really tired as we walked over. We then went into the back office. Chris decided not to put my Hapoo bed down there, so I had all the floor to spread out. however, I am always more relaxed when I have an assigned space for my own personals self, like the beds.
We had a very quiet day, Chris working and I dozing. We had lunch with Petra, she's wonderful.
We went for the Hapoo walk, and then Marian, the furniture man, walked inside with us. He said he was afraid to open his car door while I was off leash. O poor man, I would just have come running and spied into the car for a nice person to pet me. I like the furniture Marian, he's nice and does pet me every now and then, but it appears that he is a little afraid when I run free. But he is so kind not to show his fears much.
And then during the afternoon people came and stopped for their breaks. First Angelique, then Max and Katrin, whose son is a great kid, and also the friend Silke, with whome we always do fun things after the humans have ha their food.

Before I forget: The previous evening Chris let me off leash, and I ran along the usual way into the deserted parking place. A car stopped, a man got off and asked Chris where she wanted to go. Chris was really smart and asked:
"Where do you want me to go?"
He said he usually sees us walking along the street, and he thought Chris had gotten lost. So she assured that we were both allright, and then he left. There are certainly nice people around the world.

Yesterday the day was nice and relaxing, and mom even came by. I did not sing all that much, but one major high note from the top of my lungs had to be sent flying, overlapped and dominated only by Chris' angry shout to shut me up. She *always* has to have the last word!
But then I was fine, walked to my mat, lay down and watched what was happening. Chris first tried on clothes, then the humans went on the balcony to relax, and I got a huge chewing bone. Then the ladies had supper, and mom says it was allright. Mom always enjoys being with us, because Chris is relaxing and helps mom calm down.
I think today we are going back to work, first on the white carpet for me, and then on my royal bed, so Chris can talk on the phone.
Cheers for the moment, Hapoo.

fun with mom

Hi everybody:

This past weekend was wonderful and packed with joy. One day, which was this lazy day of labour, mom arrived. She was brought by one of the sisters that don't come very often. When the sister was gone, mom first thought of staying at home, but Chris suggested we go to the city. We did so, and I performed so magnificently well. I even jumped up on the traffic light Chris wanted me to show. You know, I am  show off dog, I know when it's good to display my excellence.
We took the streetcar to the city, and then walked across the main shopping street, which was pretty deserted. Then the humans sat down and had ice-cream, and then we strolled along a little more, before we ended up at the train station. I love that train station, we bought fresh bread and a few books for mom and flowers for the table.
Then we went back with the city train, which stopped for a long time in the middle of nowhere, because another train before us had broken down. We finally arrived, and I showed Chris that I knew the way to the streetcar from there. Allright, with one exception, I missed the staircase at first, but then I found it.
At hhome I was pretty exhausted.

The next day Chris and I went to work after a cozy human breakfast with mom. At work we had to move to the back office, because Chris has a special job aain with a program that only works at her desk over there. It's cooler there, I don't mind it, but my royal bed stayed in the front office. When we finally arrived at home, mom said that she hadn't gone shopping yet, so Chris put my leash back on and we went shopping all the three of us. It was so great to find mom at home, and I tried really hard not to sing from the top of my lungs.
While mom prepared food, Chris cleaned the apartment, and then they sat down in front of the TV. In the middle we all went for a nice evening walk, and then the humans sat down to watch TV again before it was bed time.

Yesterday I was tired, but the humans took me out again. We took the streetcar to the city and went to the place where they have human food all the time. They call it brunch. Chris had forgotten that it was mother's day ( it is only fair that mom has another day to celebrate), but Chris says she likes mom anyway, be it her day or not, and she would've treated her for brunch anyway.

O I need to mention this: In the morning it is a tradition that I wake up mom. However, mom slept by the wall, so I couldn't reach her unless she got up. So what Chris did was fantastic. She called me up on the bed, and I lay down between them. Yippee, what fun! Mom gave me scratches, and I rested my head on her arm and really loved this surprise. But I went down when mom told me.
Allright, finally we went back home, I ran on my Hapoo bed in the livingroom, and mom left us. I was too tired to say goodbye to her. Even Chris took a nap in the afternoon, and then we were back to our normal routine. Today we are back in the swing of things, as we are going back to work.
Cheers and good week, Hapoo.
