The better times

Hi to every single ear listening:

Well of course, after the bad day came a good one. The following day we were off, but Chris put me in harness late in the evening, and we walked to work, where I got to run in the parking lot. And then the friend Silke came downstairs, and we drove to the city. We went to the restaurat we had been to before, it was cool to lie there and watch as the ladies went to the food section to pick their food. Chris had a bad day, because she kocked over her wine glass. She had put it in the gap right between two tables, which was uneven, and there it landed on the ground. She says that was a pity, because the wine was wonderful.
At one point the friend discovered somebody at another table that she knew, and towards the end of the night we were joined by two men. I think they both liked me and the ladies, and they had a great talk.
The following day we were upstairs in the tower room for most of the time, and the humans talked and talked. Then we went home, and Chris put a CD in the player. She sat on the couch quietly and listened. Just imagine, she only listened, nothing else. She says that was the best music of all times the mystery Chris has ever produced. I have no idea about music, but she sure enjoyed it until Daniel called and we were off to the store with furniture, to have food there. And thess what? The two men met us again, that was fun.
At the food section they placed a piece of cake at my nose, I mean right in front of it, so I stepped forward and grabbed a bite of it. Almost immediately afterwards Chris pulled me back and told me a not so pleasant story. From then on I was certainly always told off when my nose went into the direction of food. They didn't have to pay for the cake. The lady offered to give it to me, but Chris absolutely refused to accept that offer.
Now that is something I don't understand. The cake was surely delicious, and I wouldn't mind the rest of it. But boy, I'm sure that would have been unpleasant. Well the rest of it was unspectacularly usual, as the friends sat and talked and I lay there and waited.
When we returned, Daniel helped Chris with her new computer. O yes, one of these nights we also were at the TV and mystery box store, where she had apparently bought a sibbling for her tiny computer. Now the challenge was making it talk, and so Daniel had to help out. But now it appears everything is working allright, she just has to get used to the new surface.
Yesterday she spent the day working from home, and today she got the tennis ball out, and we played a little - that was a nice change.
Cheers for the moment, Quito.

had a bad day

Hi there:

To all woofers out there: Do you have a bad day from time to time?

To all humans: Don't be so hard on us, even dogs are human!!!

Well, the story is that I had a bad day two days ago. in the morning it
started with me not wanting to work properly at curbs. I was fed up with
Chris speeding me up and then having to stop at curbs, looking out for high
and side obstacles and uneven grounds - it just was not my day.

then when we went out for the dog walk after lunch, I focused on the great
and cheerful work "exit", overlooked the corner of a table and - boom - ran
Chris right into it with top speed. One of the monitors, the picture thing
that make me see balls fly and people dance without being able to chase the
ball or sniff the person. reacted, too, and fell on the floor. O boy, did I
receive a correction for that one. Chris says she didn't hurt much, but she
has a nice mark on her leg for sure.

When work was over, there was a truck meneuvering on our left, and a car
stopping at our right. I thought I'd sniff and walk slowly for a change, but
Chris made me hopup, and I almost ran her into the light pole - bang,
another correction. O boy, it just wasn't my day!

Then we walked home after a great run around the parking lot, and walked
home. As we were crossing the street, I tried to overtake somebody walking
ahead of us, but made Chris almost run into them. She fell on the ground,
didn't let go of the harness and made me fall with her. She didn't say a
word or give a correction, but made me finish crossing the street as if
nothing had happened. For a while I was on high alert, so Chris sat me down,
petted and calmed me down. O boy, what would be worse than that day?

She turned me around and we walked back to the traffic pole, which I showed
her. She made me sit, gave me a treat, and then we walked home. It surely
wasn't my day, was it?

I slept for a while, and then Chris put my signal jacket on and we went out
again. This time we went with Daniel, the wheelchair man. He's great fun and
plays with me, and I can give him slobber kisses across his face. He says
Hapoo, the royalty, used to do that to him, whenever she got into his car,
and I must have been instructed by her. We went into the store with
computers, huge picture and voice boxes and stuff, and Chris bought a
computer, or so she says. She says I was great on that calm outing, and that
was great to finish off such a weird day.

When we stayed in the car for a while after having arrived at home, I gave
Daniel another kiss, and even managed a tiny one for Chris, which made them
both laugh. I really hope this kind of day will not repeat again.

Cheers, and look out for the good news, Quito.

things are quiet for a change

Hey there, it's time to take a deep breath.

In the past days nothing extraordinary has happened, except that Micki came
and we went shopping in a crowded supermarket. That was exhausting, but I
was generally good, even though I had trouble keeping my nose under control
at the beginning. It always gets better towards the end, because I have to
concentrate on following Chris then, and I get tired.

The rest of the weekend was really quiet, Chris slept and slept and slept
and then watched cars speeding by on TV. She says this time the favourite
won, an she has also found out that in the smallball game Big Rafa won
again. How can you know when you aren't watching it? I will never understand
the human mysteries.

And then she was also busy collecting material from the mysterious Chris,
the man whose sound I surely know.

At one point I rested at her feet and put two paws on her shoes. I surely
enjoyed the nap until the phone rang and Daniel called. When these two are
on the phone, you can go to sleep in all peace and with a relaxed
conscience, because they will talk forever. And yesterday we were back at
work again, and I stretched my legs at the car parking lot where Chris lets
me run. That is always so much fun.

You all have a great time and keep in mind my suspicion that Chris is not
going to keep things at a quiet level forever, cheers, Quito.

Feels like vacation

Hi there:

Guess what, we've been out and about again. One day Micki came to the
apartment, and Chris took a nap while Micki enjoyed watching TV. Then she
walked through the entire apartment, closing windows and checking, before
she picked up the luggage and harnessed me up. The weather was wonderful,
and we walked to the streetcar stop.

When we left the streetcar, we were at the train station, where the ladies
had some food and then we boarded the train. We changed trains, and then
went outside to greet a man I had never seen. But he sure smelled of my
friend Rudi the little bouncing ball. Sure enough we went to Rudi's home,
where he and I got the chance to play together.

It was great! The weather was fantastic, and the next three days I only came
inside when Chris wanted to take a nap, or for the night. However, they did
have to save Rudi's food from me, otherwhise I would have eaten it all.
There was another tall gigantic man, and he and Chris took us out to the
meadows sometimes, and there we surely romped and ran like rockets. Rudi
loves running as much as I do, and we both love to play with each other
forever.

One morning after the romp in the meadows Chris let me jump into a car, said
goodbye to Micki, and the man took us somewhere. I saw other people and had
to jump into yet another car. And then we rode forever, the three strangers,
Chris and I, until we arrived at a hotel place, where we put our luggage
into rooms I have never seen before. And then we went and met other people I
have never seen. But I have seen two. One is Petra, the great lady from my
first journey by plane. She is fun and I really love her. And then there was
also the other lady who had gone for dinner with us. She takes care of Chris
so nicely.

We all went into a room where Chris did much of the talking, and then
everybody else took turns, before they discussed some more. In between we
went outside for a little, so I could take a break and Chris could enjoy the
sun.

Finally the humans had another bit of eating food and talking, and then we
went back to our room. That room, Chris says, was a palace. She found a room
where she could have put her luggage, had she had a lot of that. The
livingroom was really large, and it then lead into a bedroom that could be
closed using a sliding door. And from there you could goo into the bathroom,
where Chris put down my food. She says that room was even larger than the
one in the previous thing she calls hotel.

However, we did not stay there for a week, but only for a night. In the
morning Chris collected all our belongings, put them back into the backpack,
and then we were picked up to go for the walk, before it was human food time
again, of course. And then two other people came and did the talking, while
Chris enjoyed listening and participating.

When all of that was done, they all hugged each other, i don't know why, at
least people came and hugged Chris, and then we left with the three other
people, to take the car and go somewhere they called back. This time the
other lady drove, and she had to hurry up, because Chris and I had to catch
a train. The man took us to the platform, and there I met Micki and the man
again - o what a joy. Then the train arrived and we boarded it. Micki found
a large seat where we all could be comfortable. Chris says there was a major
delay, because children were locking the way by playing in the train's
running path, and then we had to let other trains pass. When we were back at
the train station at home, the sister Suse and her little dog met us, and
they took us home. It was certainly good to e home. Today we are gong back
to work, for yesterday Chris has done her work from home.

You see, my life is never dul, and I really enjoy all of it a lot. Chris
says she enjoys hers, too, because she meets so many people.
Cheers, Quito.
