Hapoo heaven

Hello hello everybody:

I have to tell you about a surprising day. Yesterday Chris slept late, even the alarm rooster didn't cry, but she woke up on her own. And when she did, I was quite happy to get up and go. I have a paw that is a little swollen, but I am not crying. Chris has also started giving me pills to relieve the pain. At one point she got a call from the friend, then she says she ordered dog food for cousin Anne's dog, and then she talked with Daniel, the man on wheels - at least most of the time.

When the doorbell rang, I barked and Chris opened the door, and soon there he was, the wheels man. Well he had left his wheels somewhere and came with his crutches. The humans talked a lot, and Chris brought out a pad that was quite cold. She wrapped it around my paw and tried to make sure I kept it there. Of course I didn't, but as long as I tried it was okay. She made it clear that the cooling pad was not an ice cube to chew up - what a pity. The wheels man is wonderful, he plays with my paw, occasionally annoys me but most of the time gives me pets when I ask for them.

They ordered pizza, Chris ate a lot, and i did get two crumbles of tuna fish - delicious. Then she dressed me up and we went by Mr Wheels man's car. And when we got up I saw a little dog, about as tall as the sister's tiny dog. This one is furrier but really nice. daniel, the wheels man, locked me inside the house and thought I had run away. Stupid, why would I when Chris doesn't follow? Or if I did, it would be after a cat or other chase toy, and I would return soon. He finally believed that I was inside and let me out, and then we went for a little walk around the place, very quiet and a bit like mom's place. Then we went to the backyard, where there's a meadow and a pond. I rolled on my ack in the grass and played with Daniel and ran back and forth and drank the pond water. It is much more delicious than tabbed water. I really liked that place. Daniel says it belongs to his parents, wo weren't there that night.
Allright, I think I have to leave the keys, for Chris wants to take over the computer, and then we have to go to work.
Cheers and good day, Hapoo.

the furniture transport

Hi everybody:
Chris had been spending some time on the phone the past days. And one of them we were standing by the boss talking, when the sister arrived and soon the cousin followed. Cousin and Chris went and played with me outside, and then it was time to jump into sister's car. We arrived at the store where humans can buy their furniture, and that's what they did. First of all we stopped at the estaurant, of course, and then the craze began. they piled boxes on a cart, and Chris knew exactly what to buy. She had even printed it out on a piece of paper for cousin and sister to find the things easier. And finally they bought something that was not on the paper, and we were the last ones to leave the store, at least the last customers.
We then went to drop off the cousin and continued the ride to mom's home. There the sister and Chris and I met mom and the sister's husband. The humans had a glass of whine, and I slept. When Chris went to sleep, she didn't go downstairs, but up the wooden stairs, and she and I settled in one of the guest rooms.
Chris slept like a rock, and when she finally woke up, we went for a little walk outside. She had a good laugh, for I hadn't forgotten about my little querks. When we walked the street route, I sometimes walked a few steps and then stopped to make Chris return. I did just that, and Chris had a good laugh at my expense. When we were back home, the sister was awake. And when the husband returned, the himans had breakfast. Then mom also arrived, but when she did, Chris and the sister were installing furniture. They assembled a kitchen cabinet, and then Chris left without me. She went to the dentist and left me with the others. But when mom had said goodbye to the two others, she took me and we went to pick up Chris. She and I went for a walk along the field route, and then they had food and we all took a nap.

When we were back alive, we had a break on the balcony and then left. We arrived in another furniture store, where we had been before. The lady there always remembers to give me water and the humans coffee. This time Chris chose to buy an armchair that is magic. If she pushes a button she can lie down in it - fascinating what humans come up with.

And today we have to go back to work for another day, and then it is Sunday. cheers, Hapoo.

Yesterday

Hi everybody:
Yesterday we returned home from work, and Chris took a nap and then a shower. Then she changed clothes, emptied the trash and harnessed me up. The weather was beautiful, and we walked in the direction of the supermarket. I was enthusiastically going to cross the street and head for the entrance, but Chris made me stop, and we waited for a short while until the wheelchair man arrived.
We took a short walk to his house, where he even has an elevator - a smaller one than the one at work, but we fitted in easily. Upstairs Chris took a tour of the apartment, and i found some kibble lying on the floor from the dog that had previously visited. I had enough time to watch Chris exploring. She walked once around the rooms, and the man on wheels had by now abndoned his seat and retrieved crutches from somewhere to follow her. Once she had finished that tour, they sat down and talked. Then he got up to prepare food, and spotted a treat. Chris caught me, showed it to the Mr Daniel, and he was quite surprised I had found it. I was allowed to have it after all, and then the humans ate and had whine and talked and so forth and so forth. I still don't understand why that can be so pleasant. but at least I noticed that they talked about me a lot.
They didn't get up until very late. Daniel gave me pets, Chris just sat and relaxed and enjoyed the hospitality for the two of us, and finally I managed to get them to go outside with me. I had to work all the way home, but it was quiet outside. On one occasion I did my business and then was immediately called back.
That was a pity, as seconds later I spotted a marvelous toy, a cat. I really tried, but Chris reminded me twice, and so I had to gain my focus back and walk home. She says she had enjoyed the night and the walk back.
Good night everybody, Yours, Hapoo

either tennis or busy

Hi woofs and speaks!

I have found out that in Chris' life there are two modes: either tennis or busy.

She watched the flying balls until Sunday, she said the best man won, but not her favourite, but it was worth taking the holidays, because she saw some really interesting matches.

The following day we went back to work. It was allright but quiet. None of my preferred friends was there, except for cousin Anne at lunch, of course. The next day we changed desks, Chris worked in the back office. She says she got a lot done that day. And today we saw mom. I tried to sing, but was ignored until I at least followed quietly. Then mom came out of the kitchen and greeted me. The two had breakfast, and then we all got into the car. We got off at the dentist's. That is the place where Chris puts me under a chair, has mom read or so, and at one point disappears for quite a while. However, she always comes out fairly relaxed and mom is there, too, so that's allright.
Then we went to the city, where we got an appointment with the hairdresser's. To pass the time, we went for a walk along the city wall, where I got to run off the leash a little and did what a dog has to do every now and then. And then Chris harnessed me up and made me work. I don't like to walk in spacious areas, where there is no edge to follow. Mom helped us cross that, and at the hairdresser's she took care of me as well. Chris says the lady who did her hair was excellent, and she enjoyed it. We went into a shopping center, where Chris looked at technology. And then I had to guide her all the way to the streetcar stop, which I did well. I even managed to ignore a tiny dog - applause - but was confused by all the pigeons in my path. After a firm reminder I even ignored those and walked straight to where Chris wanted me to walk. Then it was time to go shopping at the supermarket. A lady aproached us, looked at me and then apologized, for she had not seen the signal jacket that says I am a guide dog. And once she saw that, she had no problem with me being in the supermarket. I love it, and the casheers always say how nice I am.
However, it's good to be back, and I think we will go to sleep soon, cheers, Hapoo.
By the way, tomorrow is yet another day of work, of course.

change of sofas

Hi all:
Well I have told you, something strange has been going on here. It started with Chris removing everything from the shelf and the little cabinet in the corridor. She piled most of it up on the other half of the big bed, which I still think should be given to me, though my Hapoo beds aren't bad either.
Anyhow, then she also took down the clothes rags and the mirror and the noteboard, so the entire wall was bare naked so to say. She even put all the shoes into the bedroom. Then she lifted the picture from behind the sofa and gave it a new hiding place behind the door of the study storage piano room.

The next day Chris even removed the chair from behind the livingroom door, so it could fully open. Then she pushed the table towards the balcony door and started cleaning. She took the chance and hammered nails into the back of the shelf in the corridor. And once she had pushed that from the wall, she cleaned behind it. Then finally she brought a screw driver anddisassembled the sofa bed. First she sent me to the office room, where I lay down on my carpet and was told to stay. I really did, because Chris took the seat and placed it in the corridor right in front of the bedroom. Then she took out the screws and the backrest fell on the floor. She picked it up and placed it beside the seat. Then she put all the cushions and the cover inside the base box and waited.

When the doorbell rang, I ran and barked, and soon I spotted two men. They didn't do much, they just immediately picked up one part after the other, until finally they took the base box, the storage box that used to be under the bed, and the screws, said goodbye and left. The two following days Chris was without a sofa and spent most of her time in the armchair, because outside it was too cold to fry herself in the sun.

The next day something wonderful happened. Theresa, the formerly little neighbours' girl, came to visit. Of course I recognized ,er and gave her a little song to hear. She sat on one of the kitchen chairs - even the flowers beside my bed had been moved to the kitchen. Theresa had brought cake, and they talked while Chris was watching tennis. And Theresa was also allowed to give me treats - really wonderful. Both Chris and I liked her surprise visit.

Yesterday the doorbel rang again in the afternoon, and Chris let a man in. I wasn't fond of him, but Chris told me to stop barking. Later another one followed. They cqarried parts and pieces and also had screws in their hands. I was put in a corner, and after a few more growls decided that watching was a good thing as well.

Chris says that they were very quiet and considderate, so she could watch tennis. I think they were, like everyone, impressed that she was watching tennis and writing the stores. And then there was the cmputer voice over the stereo system. I was more amazed to see that a new sofa was finally put at the place of the old one. They showed her how to unfold it, and then they showed her that one of the armrests could be put down to either be a head support or a leg extention. Chris payed with the plastic card that seems to have unlimited cash flowing from it, and then the men quietly left.

It is interesting to see how she decides that one thing should leave and the other should move in. I think she is not missing the old one. She said it has travelled to the children's shelter that we went to visit a while ago, and that it's found a good final place to serve there.
So byebye for the moment, cheers, Hapoo.
